Gorleston has a wonderful beach with white soft sand with a promenade along side for .8 of a mile. There are gardens above, with tennis courts, trim trail, footpaths, gardens beside the Ravine bridge, and parking areas near by.
At the North end is the Pier hotel, the Ocean Room, Pavilion Theatre, various cafes and beachy shops, restaurants, pubs, pay areas and arcades, with the Cliff Hotel above, looking out over its grand terrace.
It is a residential area, with the town centre 3/4 mile away.
There is the James Paget hospital close by, and a developing industrial areas servicing the offshore industry.
It is a lot quieter than the big brother GY, and in summer is busy with children playing in the paddling pool, and model enthusiasts playing in the yacht pond next to it. Come and enjoy an ice cream, a walk and refreshments in the local bars before you go, taking all your rubbish with you, please!
