The Commons serves honest, flavoursome food and quality drinks; the kitchen is run mostly by European chefs who bring years of experience and traditional recipes to The Commons' tables. They have spent time setting up relationships with local suppliers and the resulting menu is made up of simple and seasonal dishes that utilise local ingredients. The Commons is a committed localvore and sources its produce from ethical and local suppliers. Here at The Commons breakfast and brunch are served all day from 8.30am until 3pm every Saturday and Sunday. Come join us from Tuesday through Sunday for dinner and Thursday/ Friday for lunch. For those who like to get out there and have a drink with friends and family come down and enjoy a drink and some nibbles off our bar menu, Thursday through Sunday, from 3pm onwards. Boutique wines and beers are on offer if you wish to simply meet for a drink, and like the food menu, the wine list changes with the seasons. We are also a cocktail bar! Downtown Bar is located in the 164-year-old larder underneath The Commons dining room. The Downtown section was in fact the former servant's quarters where the sandstone walls still bear convict markings. Downtown Bar is open Wed-Sat 6pm-late. Live jazz and blues music are featured Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: here you will find classic cocktails an amazing range of selected spirits, craftily brewed beers from New South Wales and fine wines of Australia.
