Wongari's cabins, only two, are located in the foothills of the Boarder Ranges in South East Queensland. Wongari is fortunate to have two beautiful creeks that run all year in heavily forested and sparsely populated gorges and flats. Surrounded by National Parks, Wongari teems with an abundance of wildlife. Some of our birds and butterflys are rare, and some endangered, but they are everywhere.

Wongari's two cabins are fully self-contained and comfortable with added touches like special coffee, teas and toiletries. The bed is king size but can be split into two singles. Linen is provided by Chitta. We have a bbq, wood-fired oven, top plates and microwave. In Serenity, our first cabin, the shower has two full length glass walls opening to a beautiful forest garden. Each cabin is situated on its own private five acres. Wongari has no mobile coverage yet is only 90 minutes to Brisbane or the Gold Coast. At Wongari, you only feel remote and that fuels the experience.

Wongari is also a work in progress. We value our environment and are actively restoring the damage done by logging and dairy. Already beautiful, It will never be completely the rainforest it once was but by removing all the weeds that choke our creeks and trees, and by restoring Waterfall creek as a natural land bridge between two National Parks, we hope to come close.
