When international award-winning rose authority Walter Duncan met Kay, it's no surprise which flower spoke the language of love. What blossomed between these two passionate gardeners is today expressed in The Heritage Garden fairytale we see today, celebrated each November when the garden opens to the public with proceeds going to charity.

Just a decade ago, they started with a bare paddock and a rundown heritage cottage. They set about imagining, then realising with their own hands, a restoration of the cottage and the creation of their family home in the heritage style, all set within a garden of roses, perennials and quince orchards. The result is a cathedral of beauty featuring the French rose Gererosa and countless other varieties. Sweeping pathways, archways of Souvenir de la Malmaison in spring, a fountain and follies offer the most magical backdrop for weddings and bridal photography.

However, the most precious experience is reserved for cottage guests. Not only do they enjoy this restored heritage gem with its two living areas, wood fire and cosy bedroom, but also the entire garden with its very romantic summer house. The luxury of time over several days will see you truly appreciate every aspect of this stunning English garden with its very Australian bushland backdrop.
