We area situated in the Central Highlands of Tasmania just near the beautiful Mt Field National Park. We are high enough that the property does get a sprinkle of snow now and then which is great cause for amusement amongst the herd. Our aim is to continue the great work of the other members of the MGBA in breeding small, healthy and friendly goats with good conformation and loving natures.
We love to promote this breed whenever we can and believe that they can be a great addition to any property both large and small. We have also started producing a small amount of milk for the property and making cheeses for our selves which has worked out so incredibly well that we are looking to expanding the production and creating a retail outlet for our cheeses in the future.
We have also expanded into breeding miniature Hereford cattle, and now have breed our very own bull called Basil, he is available to visit on stud duties. Our eldest girl Corriander has now gone into retirement with “a home for life” - our policy for All Our fur kids. The herd is growing slowly with 4 breeding girls and a couple of bull calf mates for Basil.
Our feathered girls Chicken, Ducks and Quail , proved us with wonderful fresh free range eggs, and we also breed our own chicks for sale.
2014 saw us undertake a couple of new projects, firstly 14 marvellous Alpaca’s, a delightful young Jersey House cow and Mel our rescue Milking cow with her lovely calf Cariad.
Oh and we now have a massive greenhouse and 1 acre vegetable patch producing lots of homegrown food, so we are almost self sufficient
