Eucalyptus: synonymous with Australia and known for the wonderful scent of oil distilled from the leaves.

This volunteer run museum is dedicated to the story of the ‘blue Mallee’ industry in the district. With an operating model distillery, leaves grown on the site are processed demonstrating the older method of steam distillation using in-ground brick vats. The museum is styled in keeping with the heritage listed distillery, highlighting the history of ‘blue eucy’ cutting and distilling operations to produce this marvellous natural oil product.

Inglewood, Victoria, "home of the blue eucy"! This historic gold mining town presents a vision of the past. Inglewood forms part of the famous ‘golden triangle' which encompasses some of the richest alluvial gold fields in the world. The last great Victorian gold rush occurred here in the 1860's, bringing prosperity and a burgeoning new life to a rural community, clearing the land of mallee scrub and producing wool for the young colony and for export to England.

Come and see how oil is distilled from our marvellous mallee trees. We look forward to meeting you.
