The compulsion to make wine, when we started over a decade ago, just seemed right. Then, with our first vintage already bottled, we unearthed a forgotten ancestor. In the late 1800's Pietro D'Orsa had planted a vineyard in a neighbouring region after arriving from his birth country. This made sense of it all - it was in the blood, a Swiss/Italian family heritage coursing through our veins as we worked the blood red soil to make our deep crimson wine. A sanguine event. Romantic eh! But true.
Our boutique vineyard and winery is a family enterprise intent on making balanced, sophisticated and complex wines inspired by our unique Heathcote terrior, a fault line of ancient Cambrian red rock pulverised over 510 million years into soil.
Be greeted by one of the Hunter family at our 5 star James Halliday rated winery and cellar door and enjoy tastings of our highly awarded wines within the winery itself or on the terrace overlooking our beautiful property.
Open weekends and public holidays from 10am to 5pm or order wines online.
