Laurel Hill Cottage is a charming and luxurious 2 bedroom timber dwelling in a historic property one of Kilmore's premier homesteads. It was built by an Irish immigrant Thomas De Coursey Meade who came to Victoria in 1852 with his wife, and who became Clerk of Courts and solicitor. The homestead was built in 1860 on 98 acres of prominent countryside on the southern edge of the Kilmore township.
The Cottage built on the site of the old stables, comprises a queen bedroom, and twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. There is a double spa bathroom, separate toilet, fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge with CD, Video and DVD players. There is an extensive book library and comfortable lounges to complete your relaxation. The Cottage has central heating and air conditioning. The garden can be seen through every window. Starting the day sitting in a lounge chair with the sun streaming through the large windows, sipping coffee, watching the wrens and robbins flitting amongst the roses in your private rose garden can be special.
Kilmore has world class sporting facilities including the well appointed racing complex, beautifully designed golf course which your may have to share with the local wildlife and well equipped leisure centre with 25 metre heated indoor swimming pool. There are local scenic spots to visit, and Kilmore is the gateway to the Historic Gold Rush Centres, close to the Snow Fields, and Food and Wine trails.
There is of course plenty to refresh you around the Cottage itself. An extensive garden, and our own wildlife on the property, local walks, historic buildings, Weekend Art Gallery, and many delightful cafes where our lattes are second to none. We are ready to welcome you to our beautiful part of the world.
