Glamp it Up!
Whether you're camping or 'glamping' (glamorous camping), the Retreat offers the perfect solution for travellers seeking to blend a rugged encounter in the world class Karijini National Park, with the soft creature comforts that are not traditionally associated with camping.
Facilities include
84 unpowered campsites for tents, trailers and campervans, 10 dorm-style eco tents with beds, linen and shared facilities, 8 dorm-style eco cabins with beds, linen and shared facilities, 40 deluxe eco tents with en-suite and hotel quality beds, bush kitchens with seating and tables, solar powered showers and WC. An outback style alfresco restaurant offers a selection of meals featuring local produce served with true Aussie outback mateship hospitality, wines, beers and cool refreshments from the bar - a perfect way to round off a 'gorgeous' day of trekking, whilst the sunset slowly merges with an endless blanket of stars that seem to reflect the timelessness of this place.
A short walk trail leads directly from the Retreat into Joffre Gorge - stand at the top and you'll find yourself overwhelmed by this powerful creation of nature. Over a period so some 2,500 million years, this country has been sculptured and shaped to the dramatic landscapes which now form the heart of the Karijini National Park - a labyrinth of waterfalls and gorges, some of which are so narrow you can reach out and touch the cool rocks on either side of the trail.
