The Belle Époque Centre offers you a glimpse into the period from 1870 to 1914, a time when Europe’s middle class prospered, tourism gained increasingly more importance and Blankenberge was on its way to becoming a major seaside resort with the construction of the casino, the Pier, numerous stately homes along the coast and large hotels.

Three of these stately homes dating back to 1894 have been restored and remodelled to house a visitors' centre where you can experience firsthand the carefree and festive atmosphere prevailing in Blankenberge during the belle époque. An interactive exhibition featuring posters, picture postcards, clothing, photographs, footage and a number of beautiful decorative wall tiles tell a nostalgic story and offer you an insightful opportunity to learn more about the influence art nouveau had in Blankenberge.
