In Effect Till:

Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Severe weather alerts: Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall could lead to flooding and travel delays.

Thunderstorms and heavy downpours are expected to develop in certain areas later today and tonight. While not every area will experience these storms and heavy rain, those that do could see between 20 to 40 mm of rain within a couple of hours.

To prepare for potential flash flooding, assess whether your location is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Stay informed about road conditions, bus schedules, and train timetables to avoid any travel delays.

Being ready for power outages is important in case of severe weather. Gather necessary items such as torches, batteries, a mobile phone charger, and other essentials.

If you are outdoors during a thunderstorm, seek shelter in a safe enclosed space like a car. Avoid taking cover near trees or other structures that may attract lightning strikes. Move to lower ground if you are on higher terrain.

Weather warnings can change suddenly, so it's recommended to stay updated on the latest forecasts from the Met Office.
