Warning No Longer In Effect

Rainfall may lead to flooding and transportation issues.

There is a prediction of heavy rain moving northwest across Scotland starting Wednesday afternoon, with the most persistent rain expected in northern and eastern hills. By Thursday, the rain is likely to become more showery in central and southern areas. Although there is some uncertainty about the duration and location of the heaviest rainfall, there is a small possibility that it could become slow-moving over Moray and northern Aberdeenshire, as well as Lothian and Borders. In this scenario, some areas could experience 60-80 mm of rain in a 12-hour period, with a very low chance of up to 100 mm.

To prepare for possible flooding, check if your property is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Stay updated on road conditions if driving, as well as bus and train schedules, and adjust your travel plans accordingly. It's beneficial to be prepared for power outages by gathering necessities such as torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other essential items. Stay informed about weather warnings as they can change quickly, and follow the Met Office's advice to stay updated on the weather forecast in your area.
