Met Office Issues Yellow warning for London & South East England

In Effect From:
May 22nd, 8:00 am
In Effect Till:
May 22nd, 7:00 pm
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Potential disruption from scattered showers and thunderstorms expected.

While some areas will stay dry, isolated showers are expected until Wednesday. These showers could be intense at times, with a possibility of hail and thunder. In some places, 10-20mm of rain could fall within an hour, and up to 30-40mm within 2-3 hours.

To prevent any delays, it is advised to check road conditions before driving, or bus and train schedules if using public transportation. Adjust your travel plans accordingly if needed.

If you are outdoors and hear thunder, seek shelter in a safe enclosed area, like a car. Avoid taking cover near trees or structures that could be struck by lightning. If you are on higher ground, move to a lower area.

Stay prepared for rapid changes in weather warnings: the Met Office suggests staying informed about the weather forecast in your region when a warning is issued.
