Possible disruption in some areas due to heavy showers and thunderstorms

There is a high likelihood of heavy showers and thunderstorms forming a band from southwest England to the south Midlands and parts of the Home Counties during late Sunday morning and into the afternoon. Some areas may experience 15-25 mm of rain in 1-2 hours from multiple showers in the same location, with the possibility of 30-40 mm in a few places.

To prepare for potential flash flooding, assess if your area is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Stay informed about road conditions, bus and train timetables to prevent delays. Ready yourself for power outages by gathering essential items like torches, batteries, and a mobile power pack.

If caught outside during a storm, find a safe enclosed shelter like a car and avoid trees or other structures that can attract lightning strikes. Move to lower ground if you are on a high area. Be vigilant of rapidly changing weather warnings and keep updated on the forecast for your area according to the Met Office suggestions.
