Met Office Issues Yellow warning for Central, Tayside & Fife

In Effect From:
May 29th, 9:00 pm
In Effect Till:
May 30th, 4:00 am
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Inclement weather overnight may bring travel disruptions and flooding on Thursday morning.

Heavy, persistent rain is forecasted for late Wednesday and into the early hours on Thursday, with 15-25 mm of rain expected in various areas. Due to the already saturated ground in some regions, there is a potential risk of flooding, which could lead to transportation disruptions. To prepare for this, individuals should assess if their property is at risk of flooding and create a flood plan along with an emergency flood kit. To minimize delays, it is advised to check road conditions for drivers and bus and train schedules for public transportation users, and adjust travel plans accordingly. Weather warnings may change rapidly, so it is recommended to stay updated on the weather forecast in your area as advised by the Met Office.

What To EXPECT

  • Spray and flooding on roads may cause bus and car journey times to be longer, with a lower chance of impacts to rail travel
  • Possible flooding of a few homes and businesses, especially where the ground is already saturated from recent days
