In Effect Till:

Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Wednesday expected to bring heavy showers, thunderstorms, potential travel disruption and flooding.

Early showers on Wednesday are expected to intensify and become more widespread as the morning progresses into the afternoon. Some of these showers and storms may linger, bringing heavy rainfall of 15-20 mm in less than an hour, and possibly up to 30-40 mm in 2-3 hours; localized areas could receive even higher amounts. Lightning and hail are additional threats to be aware of.

To prepare for potential flash flooding, assess the risk to your area and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Safeguard your property and belongings against damage by securing loose items like bins, furniture, and structures before strong winds arrive. Stay informed of road conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly to avoid delays.

Being ready for power outages can help minimize disruptions. Gather necessary supplies such as torches, batteries, and a mobile phone charger. If caught outdoors during a storm, seek shelter in a safe, enclosed area like a car. Avoid standing near trees, tall structures, or in elevated areas where lightning may strike. Stay updated on changing weather warnings by regularly checking the forecast in your region.
