In Effect From:
May 27th, 11:00 am
In Effect Till:
May 27th, 10:00 pm
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Persistent heavy rain showers and thunderstorms could lead to flooding and disruptions in various areas.

Expect slow-moving showers and thunderstorms on Monday, resulting in varying rainfall accumulations across the warning area. Some places may see 10-20 mm of rain in an hour, with a chance of up to 30-40 mm in a few hours. Lightning could also be a concern.

To prepare, assess if your location is at risk of flash flooding and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Secure moveable objects and temporary structures to protect your property and people from injury before gusty winds arrive. Check road conditions and transport schedules to avoid delays.

Prepare for power cuts by gathering torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other essentials. If caught outside during a thunderstorm, seek shelter in a safe enclosed area, like a car, and avoid trees or structures that could be struck by lightning. Stay updated on weather warnings as they can change quickly.

What To EXPECT

  • There is a slight chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • There is a slight chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a slight chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
