In Effect From:
June 15th, 11:00 am
In Effect Till:
June 15th, 10:00 pm
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Travel and outdoor activities may be disrupted by slow-moving thunderstorms and heavy showers.

Expect showers and thunderstorms to increase in coverage this afternoon and persist into the evening. While not all areas will experience thunderstorms, those that do may encounter slow-moving storms with lightning, hail, and heavy rain. The most intense storms could result in up to 20 mm of rain in less than an hour, with isolated areas receiving 30-40 mm in 2-3 hours.

To prepare for potential flash flooding, assess whether your location is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and emergency kit. Stay informed about road conditions, public transportation schedules, and adjust travel plans as needed to minimize delays.

To better handle power outages, gather essential items like flashlights, batteries, a portable phone charger, and other necessities in advance. Take precautions if caught outside during a thunderstorm, seek shelter in a safe enclosed space like a car, avoid trees or structures that could attract lightning, and move to lower ground if on a raised surface.

Stay alert for rapid changes in weather warnings; the Met Office advises keeping current with local forecasts when a warning is issued.
