Warning No Longer In Effect

Continued heavy rain could lead to flooding and transportation problems.

Persistent rain is expected to become more scattered on Thursday, with the possibility of heavy, slow-moving downpours in parts of southern and central Scotland. An additional 10-20 mm, and in some areas 30-40 mm, of rain is likely in areas that have already received between 20 mm and locally 60 mm during this weather event.

To prepare for the possibility of flooding, check if your property is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and assembling an emergency flood kit. Stay informed about road conditions, public transportation schedules, and potential travel disruptions.

It is advisable to gather essential items such as torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other necessities to help you cope with power cuts. Be aware that weather warnings can change quickly, and the Met Office recommends staying updated on the forecast for your area.
