In Effect Till:

Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Possibility of heavy rain leading to travel disruption and flooding.

A large area of heavy rain is expected to impact much of England and Wales today, gradually moving eastward throughout the day. The rain is likely to intensify over northern England and North Wales, especially in areas with north-facing hills, before easing up on Thursday morning. Most areas can expect to receive 30-40 mm of rain, with some areas possibly receiving 60-80 mm. Higher rainfall totals of 100-150 mm are possible in certain upland locations within the Amber warning area.

To prepare for potential flooding, check if your property is at risk and consider creating a flood plan and emergency flood kit. Stay informed on road conditions, bus and train schedules, and adjust your travel plans accordingly to avoid delays. In case of power cuts, be prepared by gathering essential items such as torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other necessary supplies. Keep in mind that weather warnings can change quickly, so it is important to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts in your area.
