Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Risk of flooding and travel disruption due to heavy rain.

Expect heavy rain across much of England and Wales today, gradually easing in eastern England. The rain may become particularly heavy over parts of northern England and North Wales, especially on north-facing hills, before tapering off on Thursday morning. Rainfall totals are expected to range from 30-40 mm in many areas, with some locations potentially seeing 60-80 mm. Upland areas within the Amber warning zone could receive even higher amounts, up to 100-150 mm. To prepare for possible flooding, check if your property is at risk and create a flood plan and emergency kit. Stay informed about road conditions, public transport schedules, and be ready for power outages by gathering necessary supplies like torches, batteries, and a phone charger. Keep up to date with weather warnings as they can change rapidly.

What To EXPECT

  • There is a potential for homes and businesses to be flooded, resulting in damage to certain buildings
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater may occur, posing a risk to life
