In Effect From:
May 29th, 10:00 am
In Effect Till:
May 29th, 9:00 pm
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Expect more heavy showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, bringing the potential for travel disruption and flooding.

Starting off with light showers on Wednesday, the precipitation will intensify and become more widespread as the day progresses. Some areas may experience slow-moving showers and storms, resulting in 15-20 mm of rain in less than an hour and potentially 30-40 mm in 2-3 hours; with a few areas receiving more than 40 mm throughout the warning period. Lightning and hail are also expected hazards.

To prepare for potential flash flooding, assess the risk to your location and consider creating a flood plan along with an emergency flood kit. Additionally, safeguard your property and individuals from harm by securing moveable items and temporary structures before gusty winds arrive.

Stay informed about road conditions and transportation schedules to avoid any delays. It's advisable to have a plan in place for power outages by gathering essential items like torches, batteries, and a mobile phone power pack.

If caught outside during a thunderstorm, seek shelter in a safe enclosed area such as a car, avoiding trees and tall structures. Stay updated on weather warnings as they may change rapidly, and follow the guidance provided by the Met Office for your area.

What To EXPECT

  • If flooding or lightning strikes happen, there is a possibility of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
