Intense rain causing flooded areas and minor transportation issues

An area of heavy and persistent rain is expected to develop in parts of north and northeast Scotland later on Friday evening, continuing overnight and turning showery on Saturday morning. Around 20-30 mm of rain is likely to fall widely over a 12-hour period, with possibly up to 50 mm in some areas.
