There are heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms occurring in Northumberland, expected to persist through the evening rush hour, possibly causing disruptions on the A1 highway and in Newcastle. Some areas may receive 15 to 25 mm of rain within one hour, along with potential lightning strikes.
