In Effect From:
May 22nd, 12:15 am
In Effect Till:
May 23rd, 12:00 pm
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Expect travel disruptions due to heavy rain and potential flooding.

Expect heavy rain in much of England and Wales today, gradually clearing from the eastern parts of England throughout the day. The rain is likely to be intense and consistent in northern England and North Wales, especially on north facing hills, before easing up on Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts of 30-40 mm are anticipated in many areas, with some places expected to receive 60-80 mm. Higher totals of 100-150 mm could occur in upland locations in the Amber warning area. To stay prepared, check if your property is at risk of flooding and create a flood plan and emergency kit if necessary. Stay informed by monitoring road conditions, bus and train schedules, and weather forecasts to avoid delays. In case of power cuts, assemble essential items like torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other necessities. Be ready for sudden changes in weather warnings, and keep updated on the forecast in your area as advised by the Met Office.
