In Effect Till:
May 23rd, 6:00 am
Current Status:
Warning No Longer In Effect

Possible flooding and travel disruptions expected due to heavy rain.

An area of rain is forecasted to form over eastern and central England before moving northwestwards towards northern England and north Wales on Wednesday afternoon. The rain may intensify, particularly over north-facing hills, and linger until Thursday morning. There is uncertainty regarding the exact locations of the heaviest rainfall, with most areas expecting 30-40 mm, some regions potentially seeing 60-80 mm, and a small possibility of upland areas experiencing 100-150 mm.

To prepare for potential flooding, assess your property's risk and create a flood plan with an emergency kit. Stay informed about road conditions, bus/train schedules, and consider adjusting travel arrangements if needed. In the event of power outages, having torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other essentials will be beneficial. Stay updated on weather warnings as they may change suddenly, and monitor the forecast for your area as recommended by the Met Office.
