Between 10 to 20 mm of rainfall is currently expected between midnight and 8 o'clock on Friday morning. This is likely to result in the River Mole overtopping its banks in places during Friday afternoon and into Saturday, which will flood low lying land and roads. Property flooding is not currently expected, but we will continue to monitor the situation and issue any flood warnings if property is threatened.<\/p>\n<p>The river Mole in Surrey \u00a0burst it's banks on Monday causing severe flooding in Leatherhead. The environment agency \u00a0issued a severe flood warning, meaning that there is imminent danger to life.<\/p>\n<p>Homes in Leatherhead were evacuated with people moved to a local day centre.<\/p>\n<p>The Environment agency described the flood as a 'once in a hundred years' event, and\u00a0Sir Paul Beresford, Conservative MP for Mole valley said he had not seen anything like this since the the big storm of 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Further rain fell in Leatherhead adding to the problem.
