{"id":57,"date":"2013-12-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weatherforecast.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/12\/06\/porpoises-spotted-river-thames-east-coast-floods\/"},"modified":"2023-08-17T09:57:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T08:57:22","slug":"porpoises-spotted-river-thames-east-coast-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weatherforecast.co.uk\/blog\/uk-weather\/porpoises-spotted-river-thames-east-coast-floods\/","title":{"rendered":"Porpoises Spotted In River Thames After East Coast Floods - Pictures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After yesterdays severe weather and tides, a pod of \u00a0five Porpoises has been spotted in the river Thames.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the Marine Conservation Society said:\u00a0\"It could well be related, either to the tidal movement, or as a response to the particularly rough seas beforehand.<\/p>\n<p>\"The outer Thames Estuary would have been relatively sheltered from northerly offshore winds.\"<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Mowat, a marine conservationist for ZSL\u00a0said it would not pose a threat to the porpoise that the Thames barrier was closed. \u201cThey should be fine, they can find their way up river and go back down again.
