It preserves the authentic atmosphere of life and work of Ivan Meštrović (1883-1962), one of the most famous Croatian sculptors, who studied in Vienna and lived, work and exhibited in the artistic and cultural centres of Europe and USA, such as Rome, Paris, Prague, London, Cannes, Geneva, Zagreb, Split, Chicago, New York… where his works can still be found today. Ivan Meštrović was the first living artist who exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (1915) and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York(1947). The Meštrović Atelier contains art pieces created in the first four decades of Meštrović's work until leaving Zagreb in 1942.
