In the North of Iceland, close to the fjord Eyjafjörður, lies dreamly Grytubakki, our farmhouse.
Since 1985 Grytubakki is the center of a variety of long and short riding tours in a breathtaking landscape.
All year round about 140 horses live with us and during the months of June, July, August and September, some more might join the herd. Exciting cities of the Elves, a Viking treasure hidden in a small hill, charming valleys, rivers and a colourful world of wonders are waiting for the guest.
We ride through deserted valleys, to the North Atlantic and with a herd of freely running horses to Lake Myvatn, the famous lake of the midges.
The Polar Hestar riding tours are suitable for experienced riders but also for beginners.
