Learn the fascinating stories of local Maori history told through the Maori wood carvings from the Rangitane iwi (tribe) in the Marlborough Sounds. The focus of the carvings is on ancestors of significance and other traditional stories of importance. These include taniwha (fabulous monsters), maori gods (tangaroa, god of the sea) and much more. Your hosts practice manaakitanga (the spirit of hospitality), to ensure the comfort of your experience.
Shark Nett Maori heritage art gallery is intimate and personal and offers an authentic cultural tour experience set in the gateway to the magnificent Pelorus Sounds with panoramic views of the wildlife in the wetlands here in Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand.
