The spacious, sunny lodge is in a secluded spot only 50m from the beach. The four bedrooms open onto decks with views of sea or forest. The central lounge with its views out over Endeavour Inlet offers guests a great place to relax and revive. Breakfast is included in the tariff and we also offer delicious home-cooked dinners and packed lunches.
Enjoy a swim before breakfast, lie in a hammock, read a book, gather shells on the beach, visit our organic vegetable garden, or if you are feeling more adventurous, explore the coastline by kayak and picnic at a secluded cove. Walking the Queen Charlotte Track and enjoying the breathtaking views is an experience not to be forgotten, and what better way to relax at the end of the day than sipping a glass of wine on the beach as the sun goes down. After dinner a visit to the glow worm grotto is a must.
To enhance your peaceful enjoyment of Mahana, we have chosen to be a TV free zone. Please note that there is no cell phone coverage.
Whether you are looking for a night’s rest on your walk along the Queen Charlotte Track, or wanting a few days “away from it all”, the warm hospitality of your hosts Ann and John Martin will ensure that your stay is a memorable one.
Mahana is accessible from the Queen Charlotte Track or by water taxi from Picton (approx 1 hour). There is no road access.
