A Clutha River Heritage Cruise will take you back in time to the heady Gold Rush days of Central Otago.
The two and a half hour cruise includes a full commentary on the history of the area.
Trips are undertaken on our super comfortable pontoon boat with a maximum capacity of 15 passengers.
Along the way you will discover some of the best examples of early Chinese and European Gold Miners Rockshelters and huts still in their original states since the 1860's. You will also visit the legendary Doctors Point Gold Mine which is recognized as one of the best preserved Gold Mines in Central Otago. Here you take a guided tour of the Gold Mine and interpret how it was worked. There will be a chance to do some Gold Panning before its time for Tea/Coffee, soft drinks and muffins on the banks of the Clutha River which is the mightiest and biggest river by volume of water in New Zealand.
It is then time to return back up river to Alexandra.
