Mudgeon is a dairy farm near the breath taking Helford river on the spectacular Lizard Peninsula. With in a few minutes drive are all the Lizard's famous safe sandy beaches, ancient fishing villages & fantastic coastal views & walks. On the farm there is a short private Nature Trail to the pretty Tremayne Quay, on the Helford, across ancient Cornish countryside & National trust woodlands. Helston an ancient market town is 8 miles & from there all of Cornwall's tourist attractions can be reached with in less than an hour, including Lands End, The Eden Project & National trust houses & gardens, to name but a few. It has 3 supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc. With in 1 1/2 miles is a pub with good food & a shop & garage selling a wide range of goods & news papers.
The farm is child friendly with a large play park complete with swing, bridges, slides, tree house & trampoline. The milking can be viewed from the games room complete with snooker, table tennis & soft ball games. At most times of the year calves can be seen.
The cottage sleeps up to 8 in 3 bedrooms & has 2 bathrooms , one en suite & one family with bath & shower. There is a four poster bedroom with original features from this ancient Manor House. Down stairs are 2 large reception rooms including a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher & fridge/freeze. The lounge has a feature stone inglenook fire place with large wood burner for cosy nights by the fire with a glass of wine. There is a colour TV/DVD player. The cottage has 2 large night storage heaters. Outside there are 2 spacious grassed lawns with picnic tables & there are 2 large patio areas, with BBQ, where you can relax with a glass of wine. There is a large safe enclosed courtyard for small children.
There are only 2 well equipped 6 & 8 berth caravans at Mudgeon with there own private large grassed & fenced area. They are well spaced with one at each end of the site. There is parking for 2 cars directly beside each van & beautiful views across the Cornish countryside. Each van has a spacious lounge area/kitchen with full sized cooker, fridge, microwave & TV/DVD player. Each has 3 bedrooms & in one a double bed can be made up in the lounge. In one there is a family bathroom with shower & the other has a separate toilet & shower room. Outside there are picnic benches for BBQs or relaxing with a glass of wine while the children enjoy the freedom & play equipment.
