The Inkins have continued renovation this year, adapting the bedrooms in the simple style that will be familiar to visitors to their other inns: The Felin Fach Griffin, Brecon in Wales, and The Gurnard's Head, Zennor (see entries).
Rooms have a panelled headboard with built-in shelving; a Roberts radio rather than television; 'proper coffee and Cornish tea' on the hospitality tray; books to read. Several rooms have a balcony; two have baths with a sea view. A lower lounge, which runs the length of the building, has leather sofas and chairs, separate seating areas.
There are mismatched wooden tables and chairs in the open-plan bar and dining area, where chef Matt Smith serves a menu of dishes like gazpacho, crab, basil; skate fillet, mussels and saffron risotto. Breakfast has Cornish apple juice; home-made muesli; home-baked soda bread, 'proper pats of butter'; a choice of cooked dishes.
