Smedmore Caravan Site is a privately owned dog friendly family Caravan and Motor Home Club affiliated site conforming to their rules and regulations. It is in a neatly-mown field off a private drive. It is situated on the historic rural Estate of Smedmore in the heart of Dorset just off the coast path and a mile from Kimmeridge Bay. Covering 1800 acres in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the Estate runs down to a stunning and unspoilt stretch of the Jurassic Coastline. Enjoy a stay in this enchanting part of the delightful Isle of Purbeck. Take a break and walk along the undulating coastal path or visit the wide range of local attractions this beautiful area has to offer.

It is a partially sloping site bordered on three sides by trees, surrounded by farmland. It has views to the sea and Clavell Tower on one side and the Purbeck Hills on the other. There are 40 +spacious grass pitches (7 with hard standing areas) mostly arranged around the edge of the field. Facilities include electrical hook-ups, an information hut, two watering points and one chemical disposal point. Wi-Fi is available for a small charge. Gas bottles are for sale on site if required however, THERE ARE NO SHOWERS OR TOILETS.

The site is open from May to October inclusive. The Warden Jo is normally on site every morning between 9am and 10am and again between 5pm and 6pm in the evening. We take bookings for touring Caravans, Motor homes and Camper vans but regret we do not have static pitches or canvas pitches for tent booking.
