Martineau Gardens is a beautiful free entry, community garden and a charity, located two miles from Birmingham City Centre. An a oasis for wildlife, a haven of tranquility or simply a destination for an outdoor adventure, there are two and half acres of organically managed landscape f0r you to explore. Garden features include: an orchard growing figs, mulberries,grapes and apples, vegetable plot and herb beds, a woodland home (with SLINC status) to Pipistrelle bats, badgers and birds and many species of fungi, a nature trail, a formal garden with unusual trees and shrubs, including a Lyonothamnus floribundus and Colletia cruciata, a children’s play area, picnic area, sales area selling plants and homemade jams made from the fruits of the garden, hot house, a wildflower meadow, bird hide, ponds, beehives and earth oven. There are toilets, a small car park and whilst we have no cafe, we will make you hot and cold drinks (donations welcomed). There's a regular events programme from spring to Autumn. Martineau Gardens is open daily, Monday to Saturday 10am until 4pm (except bank holidays) and is free entry.
