'One of the Country’s truly great Gardens’

Botanical heritage and stunning landscapes make Borde Hill Garden the perfect day out for horticultural enthusiasts, country lovers and families. Created in the 1900’s, the Garden is renowned for its rare shrubs and champion trees. The formal 17 acre Garden features a series of distinctive 'garden rooms' each with their own individual style, including the Azalea, Rhododendron, sub-tropical dells, Rose and Italian Gardens. Borde Hill’s beautiful Garden, traditional parkland, magical woods and tranquil lakes, continue to captivate and delight visitors of all ages. New plantings over recent years are ablaze with spectacular colour through the open season from March to September.

Join us as we celebrate the Golden Anniversary (1965 – 2015) of the garden becoming a charity and opening to the public. A special commemoratory exhibition of historical documents dating from the 1900s will include archived photographs and rare letters sent from the Great Plant Hunters to Borde Hill’s founder, Colonel Stephenson R Clarke.

In May renowned sculptor Angela Conner will launch a Sculpture Exhibition which will include a bespoke piece by Angela, alongside works by some of the South East's most notable artists.

Children can enjoy the Adventure Playground, while all visitors can buy a special plant or a gift at our shop, or enjoy a vintage tea in the garden. Spoil yourself in Cafe Elvira or Jeremy’s Restaurant. Dogs are welcome on lead too. Events throughout the opening season.
