The house sits in the centre of its own beautiful grounds and has a swimmingpool and tennis court which can be used by the guests. The whole place is very peaceful and has easy access to many famous landmarks, including Avebury, Stonhenge, the Whitehorses and the Kennet and Avon Canal.
A short drive can take one to visit Bath, Salisbury, Winchester and Oxford. There are the beautiful stately homes of Wilton House, Bowood and Highclere (Downton) all within half an hour. Marlborough College is 15 minutes away so Mayfield is a good place to stay for Marlborough Summer School.
