Welcome to Halftown Cottages

Two romantic historical holiday cottages, completely restored, are situated on the site of an ancient Highland village, by the shores of Loch Fyne near Strachur, opposite Inveraray in Argyll, Scotland. They are on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula of Argyll. The cottages are only six miles from the main A83 trunk road from Glasgow.

These secluded cottages are set in 180 hectares (440 acres) of natural woodland, which has heritage status, comprising oak, birch, willow, hazel, beech and rowan trees. Behind the cottages is "Tom Na Sgeulachd" ("hill of the fable") which is covered in bluebells in the spring. A small burn (hill stream) runs down to the loch below the cottages.

The surrounding woodland has a variety of orchids including the great butterfly and fragrant orchid, an abundance of whorled caraway, mushrooms including chantarelles, a small waterfall, deer and a great variety of birds. Red squirrels are regular visitors as this is a red squirrel conservation area.
