Hartfell House is situated in a peaceful rural setting in a designated "Outstanding Conservation Area" on the edge of the town of Moffat. It overlooks the surrounding hills, yet is only a few minutes' walk from Moffat's attractive town centre. The building is of local stone, and is officially 'Listed' as being of architectural interest, dating from around 1850.

The guest house accommodation includes 7 spacious and tastefully furnished bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. A full Scottish breakfast is cooked to order and a continental buffet is also provided. Home baked bread, freshly ground coffee and a selection of speciality teas are on offer to complement the cereals, fruits and fresh juices.

Guests can dine in the award winning Limetree Restaurant, open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Chef Matt Seddon uses the best seasonal ingredients and makes the most of local suppliers in order to produce a charismatic blend of modern and traditional cooking with Scottish and global influence..
