Great walking with several way marked trails starting from the village. Cycling and fishing are also on the doorstep. Close to the Galloway Forest Park with miles of trails to explore, the Ayrshire Alps Road Cycling Park and the Dark Sky Park for superb star-gazing.
Outside we have a south facing patio area (not enclosed) with garden furniture and space for barbecue to enjoy al fresco meals or simply relax with a good book.
The cottage is located in the heart of the village and has 2 double bedrooms (one upstairs), sitting/dining room, well-equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and lots of cooking utensils) and shower room. We have a large selection of books and games plus a TV with basic Sky channels and a CD player.
Great base for exploring the south west and only a short drive from some world-class golf courses, Culzean Castle, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Dumfries House, the coast with some fine beaches and the historic town of Ayr.
The cottage is non-smoking, you are welcome to smoke outside though and we accept one well behaved pet.
