Croeso i Amgueddfa Forwrol Llŷn!

A museum of Llŷn Maritime history. Newly created exhibition of Llŷn life, situated in the old St Mary's Church, Nefyn. This is a historical site of great importance. The Church's historical significance became more apparent recently. Some excavation work uncovered remains of earlier buildings. A skeleton of a lady was uncovered burried in a rare stone 'cist' grave dating back to the 13th century. Within the walls of the round walled historical graveyard lie the remains of sailors and captains.

On entering the Church you can experience the smells, sounds and atmosphere of a cabin on board a sailing ship. You can listen to oral historical stories told by local people. The modern exhibition is a lively multi-media experience. A place to visit time and time again.

Special activity days are held for children as well as walks and talks for adults. Please contact for details.
