The state’s first land trust established in 1987, the Land Trust works with willing land owners to conserve the places they value. Landowners have a deep connection to their land and know the gifts undeveloped properties provide our community: clean air and water, fresh food, wildlife habitat, and sheer scenic beauty. Our award winning "Tuesdays on the Trail" environmental education programs for elementary students and parents help encourage tomorrow's land stewards.
Our annual events include summer Concerts at Three Caves (a former limestone quarry just 1.5 miles from downtown Huntsville), the "sold out for 11 years) Moon Over Three Caves Dance each third Saturday in September, and the "Haunt at Three Caves" in October. We also offer spring and fall guided hike series, including a Thanksgiving Day Hike for the past 21 years. (Rev. 12/2014)
