Remarkably maintained in a relatively pristine state, the Conservancy is home to more than 60 endemic plant, animal and insect species that are found nowhere else in world.

When it comes to exploring Catalina's "Wild Side" there's no better way than taking one of Catalina Island Conservancy's Jeep Eco Tours. Our naturalist guides/drivers will take you on you're choice of a 2 hour, 4 hour or all-day tour through some of the most remote reaches of Catalina - areas that few visitors to the island ever get to see. From your vantage point in our open-air Jeep, you'll be treated to 360 degree views of the breathtaking scenery and stunning vistas as you make your way across back-country roads and rugged trails. Remember to keep a sharp outlook for some of the area’s unique wildlife, including bald eagles and our iconic bison!

Looking for a more contemplative activity? Make sure and visit the Wrigley Botanic Garden. Located a short 30 minute stroll up from downtown Avalon, the Wrigley Botanic Garden features various cactus and succulents from around the world, as well as plants native to Catalina and the other Channel Islands. Guests are also able to see and visit the famed Wrigley Memorial, which is located at the top of the garden and features an amazing view of Avalon Bay.
