Dinosaur Ridge is an outdoor museum 25 minutes west of Denver, Colorado. We've taken a mountain and turned it into a museum. We have over 300 dinosaur footprints and a few dozen dinosaur bones in the rock, made or deposited 100-150 million years ago. Our site is the first location where large dinosaurs were discovered in the west, and some of the world's most famous dinosaurs were first found here (Apatosaurus, previously known as Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Allosaurus). You can still see and touch many of their bones on a hike or guided tour with your family!

We run guided tours from the Main Visitor Center daily starting at 10AM. These 45-minute programs are led by trained guides, many of them science students in local colleges. We drive you up on our shuttle buses and get out at three locations to see and touch the fossils with interpretation before returning to the Visitor Center.

We offer many programs to the public and our members year-round as well as guided tours for local school groups (17,500 students in 2014), and summer camps in June and July (101 campers in 2014). Come see what Dinosaur Ridge has to offer! We're the best outdoor museum since the Jurassic!
