Stars Above Hawaii is an exciting astronomical and educational entertainment (“edu-tainment”) program that is provided to people of all ages from all over the world at the Ko Olina Resort through its star shows held at the Aulani - Disney Resort & Spa, J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, the Four Seasons Resort & Spa, and Marriott Vacation Club Timeshare - Ko Olina Beach Club, all located within the Ko Olina Resort on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii. World-class professional star shows take place at 8 pm and 9 pm every evening by reservation, as well as private star show events throughout Hawaii by request.

At Stars Above Hawaii each star explorer (you) will have the opportunity to view stars, star clusters, planets, galaxies and nebulae. Use very large computerized telescopes. Learn Hawaii astronomy and take the Polynesian star line laser light tour. The star shows are frequently hosted by Greg McCartney, who is a NASA/JPL Ambassador with the Solar System Ambassadors Program, a member of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and a member of the Friends of the Institute for Astronomy. Greg brings the most up to date and exciting information known about the universe to the Stars Above Hawaii with a focus on Polynesian star voyaging navigation story telling and Hawaii astronomy.

As you take your mini-vacation into space exploration, you will travel through the universe light years back in time through the life cycle of the stars from stellar nurseries, to newborn baby stars, to multiple colorful star systems where couples stay together ”forever,” to supernova remnants, and into other galaxies. You will see mountain ranges and inside the craters of the Moon, Jupiter’s swirling clouds in color and its moons, as well as Saturn and its rings and moons up close, amongst many other treasures in the night sky. Whether you wish to explore the stars in wonder and amazement, or romance under the stars starry eyed with your loved one, each star show is tailored to the attendees, with the star names spoken in Hawaiian, English, Japanese, and so on, highlighting each cultures mythological understanding of the constellations and legends of the night sky.
