Our beautiful hand hewn log chalet suites are elegant and rustic. All suites have cathedral ceilings, wood burning fireplaces, private baths. One couple from Scotland did not leave this lodge for 3 days they found it so peaceful. The Library is our guest common room.Visitors hike the lodge's peaceful untamed forest grounds. Millions of acres of National Forest are accessible nearby. Small museums and unique venues like the Wolf Study Center, a 1800's Swiss built monastery, handmade saddle shops and more are nearby.
Kamiah an authentic historic old west USA town is in a lush valley with spectacular surrounding mountains, and forests along a river. it has unique shopping, restaurants, and historic sites both western and Native American. Lewis and Clark had their longest Expedition camp here and called this Paradise Valley in their journals because of its lush flora, fauna, wild fruit and beauty. The LA Times called this Hwy 12 America's most beautiful east to west highway. Ranchers, cowboys, Native Americans, and nature loving move-ins from other states make this area special and friendly. The spectacular topography changes rapidly as one drives along. Nearby small museums, a monastery, lakes, native and western historic sites fascinate. Hiking, swimming, fishing, kayaking, tubing & other water sports are enjoyed in this previously undiscovered spot of the US on the Nez Perce Reservation. Idaho is called the gem state. Gold found here reportedly financed the American Civil War.
Wild life abounds here: turkeys, sheep, deer, elk, moose, bear, eagles, and much more. Deer have been seen walking the streets of town. People on occasion ride their horses in the town street. The beautiful Idaho topography changes suddenly and dramatically. Rock hounds love it. The people are friendly and are admired for their pioneering spirit which makes them able to make or fix or grow almost anything. Native Americans pow wows and western rodeos are held here in summer. We are at the gateway to the largest remaining wilderness in the lower 48 States. Hiking Hunting, fishing, kayaking, other river sports including spring white water rafting are popular. Ranchers, cowboys, Native Americans along w regular American folk live here.
