Residents of Datchet in Berkshire woke this morning to find their houses surrounded by water as water levels on the river Thames continue to rise.

There are currently 14 Severe flood warnings in force for areas along the river Thames in Surrey and Berkshire. The severe flood warning for Datchet includes... River Thames at Datchet village, including Slough Road, Eton Road, Horton Road, Southlea Road and the Datchet Common areas.

Train services have also been affected. Due to flooding at Datchet, no trains are running between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside. As the roads are flooded, South West Trains is also unable to operate a replacement bus service. Network Rail posted a picture to Twitter this morning showing flooding on the line at Datchet.

Last night, armed forces and the fire brigade were in Datchet helping to build a sandbank as the level of the River Thames continues to rise.
