Dawlish Storm

A 'Major Incident' has been declared in Dawlish as high winds and high tides cause severe damage to the Dawlish Coast.

Homes have been evacuated as severe weather effectively washes away the Dawlish rail line, causes damage at Dawlish station and tears apart parts of the Dawlish coast line.

Most of the south of England and Wales have been hit by stormy weather today. The Met office have Amber weather warnings in place for the South East and South West, and winds of 70mph on the coast and 60mph inland have been bringing disruption to travel and power supplies. The Environment agency has issued 9 Severe flood warnings, meaning danger to life, for the South West, including Dawlish.
